Two unforgettable weeks. Three extraordinary islands. One united family.

This was more than a trip—it was a transformative journey grounded in sustainability, cultural immersion, and purposeful travel. We are thrilled to share our story. For us, it was a deeply personal adventure. It was the first international trip for our children, Thomas and Giovanna—aside from Brazil and the United States, their home countries.

This experience offered them hands-on lessons in conservation, community, and connection with the natural world—lessons no screen or classroom could ever teach. From the exclusive North Island to the marine wonders of Alphonse and the unique charm of Praslin, each island told part of this story. Together, they formed a rich narrative we are excited to bring to life and share to inspire other families.

The Soul of Seychelles

Nature, culture, and sustainability in perfect harmony

Seychelles is a sanctuary of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, where nature leads and people follow with reverence. Over two transformative weeks, the Abrahão Kohl family explored three unique islands—each with its own rhythm and lessons.

From the coral sanctuaries of Alphonse to the mystical forests of Praslin, and the powerful natural restoration of North Island, this journey was a deep dive into conscious travel, family connection, and the genuine beauty of our planet.

North Island – Wild Elegance and Sacred Silence

There are places that take your breath away—and others that give it back. North Island, in Seychelles, did both.

For our family—Chris, Giovanna, Thomas, and me—this small yet sacred piece of the Indian Ocean became much more than a destination. It became a mirror, a teacher, a sanctuary. It reconnected us to the planet, to each other, and to ourselves in a way we’ll carry forever.

We didn’t just go there. We were truly present.

Raffles, Praslin – Luxury with Purpose

It was there, high on Praslin’s northern coast, that we found our refuge: Raffles Seychelles.

A large resort with expansive design—spacious villas, cascading architecture, restaurants, pools, and breathtaking views of Curieuse Island. Yet even with all its structure, Raffles aligns with the tranquil soul of Seychelles. The resort doesn’t compete with nature—it surrenders to it, embraces it, and celebrates it with intention.

Alphonse Island – A World Beneath the Water

Alphonse Island is part of the Alphonse Group in the outer islands of Seychelles, located hundreds of kilometers southwest of the main granitic islands. These coral atolls, shaped over millions of years, are the remnants of sunken volcanoes, leaving only reef platforms behind. The result is a truly otherworldly landscape: flat, untouched, teeming with marine life, and profoundly sacred.

“The island was our backyard.” This small sense of autonomy had a big impact on the kids—providing a sense of responsibility and presence. It was a shared experience they truly took part in.
