EP 01 - THE VALUE OF PRESERVATION

The first episode of the documentary series explores how ecotourism is a powerful tool for preservation and environmental awareness. Accompanied by experienced guides, we witness tourists’ journey in search of unique and immersive experiences in nature, while learning about the importance of conservation to ensure the sustainability of this type of tourism and the natural heritage for future generations.

EP 02 - A JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH

The second episode of the documentary series “Mato Grosso do Sul: ecotourism exponent to the world” is a journey to the center of the Earth. The journey takes us through the legendary and enigmatic caves of the municipalities of Bonito and Jardim, showing the connection between humans and nature. It also integrates environmental education in the largest freshwater complex in the world, the Pantanal Biopark, in Campo Grande.

EP 03 - THE CULTURE OF THE PANTANAL

The third episode of the documentary “Mato Grosso do Sul – Ecotourism Exponent to the World” is a celebration of Pantanal culture. The chapter highlights the role of the artisan and master cururu player Sebastião de Souza Brandão in preserving the “way of doing” and the sound of the cocho viola, a Brazilian intangible heritage. He shares his passion for the musical genre and his efforts to pass on this legacy to new generations during the traditional Feast of São João’s Bath in Corumbá.

EP 04 - THE AMOLAR MOUNTAIN RANGE

The fourth and final episode of the documentary on ecotourism in Mato Grosso do Sul highlights the Amolar Mountain Range, an icon of the Upper Pantanal considered a natural heritage of humanity and a World Biosphere Reserve. This chapter explores the deep connection between riverside women and nature, highlighting them as guardians of the biome and the culture of water hyacinth weaving. The episode also focuses on the efforts of the Pantaneiro Man Institute in the preservation and restoration of the Pantanal after the devastating fires of 2020.

The documentary series “Mato Grosso Do Sul: A Leading Advocate for Ecotourism Worldwide”, in four episodes, is a revealing look at the diversity and natural and cultural riches of ecotourism in the state, showing how this region has become an example for the world. The focus is on sustainability, preservation, and conservation, combined with the formation of environmental consciousness in each transformative experience lived by visitors.

From the crystal-clear rivers and millennia-old caves of the municipality of Bonito to the scenic beauty waterfalls of the Bodoquena Range. From the tradition of the Pantanal man and the cocho viola in the biodiversity sanctuary of the Pantanal to the Amolar Mountain Range opening up to tourism with the strength of riverside women. The region is a treasure trove.

The documentary features award-winning names in audiovisual production: directed and cinematographed by Maxwell Polimanti, directed and written by Adriana Farias, and executive produced by Gisele Abrahão, a renowned professional in the Tourism Industry.

DOCUMENTARY FINALIST OF TRAVEL FILMFEST 2023

The documentary series “Mato Grosso Do Sul: A Leading Advocate for Ecotourism Worldwide” was selected to be screened at the international film festival Travel FilmFest, in October 2023, on the island of Cyprus. The work was the only Brazilian finalist representative in the category of best documentary.

The recognition was given by a jury composed of prominent figures in documentary cinema from the United States, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada.
